Our summer school on “EU Better Regulation and EU Integration” is relevant for all professionals working on Better Regulation/RIA, transposition of the EU Acquis, European Integration Planning, and developing negotiation positions as part of the European Integration process.
The summer school will contribute to a detailed understanding of the EU policy development and law-making process. This will be paired with tips and suggestions on how to use the EU’s approach to Better Regulation in the European Integration process.

Erik Akse is the expert for EU decision-making and policy development with more than 20 years of experience. He worked at the Dutch administration, the European Commisison and in all countries that want to join the EU.
Erik Akse has managed a range of complex Technical Assistance projects related to Public Administration Reform and Better Regulation. He was directly involved in over 180 Impact Assessments, evaluations, and related public consultation processes.
Erik’s expertise extends to the design and implementation of systems for Public Administration Reform, strategic planning, ex-ante Regulatory Impact Assessment, ex-post Evaluation, stakeholder consultation, and administrative burden reduction. He had completed numerous assessment of OECD/SIGMA based on the Principles of Public Administration.

Dragana Aleksić has more than 17 years of experience in Public Administration Reform and Better Regulation. Her expertise covers – among others – Strategic Planning, Impact Assessment, Evaluation, and Administrative Simplification.
Dragana worked as a civil servant in Serbia. During her tenure of more than ten years, she became Assistant Director of the Public Policy Secretariat. In this position, she led initiatives to enhance policy planning systems and implement Better Regulation tools.
She has been working in different expert roles and capacity-building programs across the Western Balkans and Middle East.

Boris Koprivnikar is a distinguished consultant in digitalization with a profound track record in managing and innovating within public sector organizations and governmental bodies. With over 30 years of managerial experience, Boris has contributed significantly to digital developments in Slovenia, notably as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration from 2014 to 2018. Under his leadership, Slovenia was recognized as the fastest digitally developing country according to the EU DESI Index 2017.
Boris has a comprehensive background in designing digital strategies, establishing digital platforms, and optimizing information systems for both national and local communities. His work often emphasizes user-centric solutions, inclusive practices, and sustainable development goals. A fervent advocate for managing complex systems through a values-driven approach, Boris integrates system thinking and interdisciplinarity in all his roles.
Currently, Boris continues to influence the digital landscape through his consultancy at Sincular Consulting, where he collaborates with governments, public, and international organizations to enhance digital infrastructure and services. His contributions extend globally as he regularly participates as a speaker and panelist in various international forums discussing digitalization, public sector efficiency, and innovation.

Joana Naçi is the Managing Director at Impact Assessment Institute and plays a pivotal role in driving the organization’s success.
She started her experience at Peace Corps Albania & Montenegro and CBS – Creative Business Solutions. Before joining the Impact Assessment Institute, she worked at the EU Twinning Project related to improving Food Safety in Albania.
Joana has a broad expeeince with project communications, liaising with implementing partners and stakeholders, running procurements, event organisation, and all other aspects needed to make a project a success.
Joana holds a Bachelor ‘s Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Finance-Banking from the Mediterranean University of Albania.
