3-Day Summer School on “EU Better Regulation and EU Integration”, June 24-26, 2024, Tirana, Albania
The Impact Assessment Institute (IAI) successfully organized a 3-Day Summer School on “EU Better Regulation & EU Integration” from June 24-26, 2024, at the Rogner Hotel in Tirana, Albania. Running daily from 09:00 to 16:30, this Summer School was dedicated to advancing Better Regulation and evidence-based policy-making within the European Union.
A total of 25 civil servants from public administrations across the Western Balkans participated, including representatives from Young Cells Schemes in Albania, civil servants from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia.
Our program was focused into the intricacies of Impact Assessments (IAs) conducted by the European Commission, as well as the strategic utilization of this invaluable evidence in the European Parliament (EP) and the European Council (EUCO).
We placed these insights within the broader context of the European Integration process, emphasizing how policy analysis of the European Commission can support the transposition of the EU Acquis.
Recognizing the Summer School’s focus on EU Integration, we also introduced our slogal for events centered on the region, titled “The Journey Together to the EU.” This slogan underscores our commitment to supporting the EU Integration journey of Western Balkan countries.
The program was relevant to professionals engaged in Better Regulation/RIA, transposition of the EU Acquis, European Integration Planning, and developing negotiation positions as part of the European Integration process. It contributed to a detailed understanding of the policy development and law-making process.
The training was led by 3 (three ) highly experienced experts: Mr. Erik Akse (Better Regulation expert with more than 20 years of experience), Ms. Dragana Aleksic (Better Regulation expert) and Mr. Boris Koprivnikar (Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Public Administration, Slovenia). Upon completion of the 3-Day program, all participants received a Certificate of Completion.
