The Conference ‘The Journey Together to the EU’, June 28, 2024, Tirana, Albania
On 28 June 2024, the Impact Assessment Institute (IAI) hosted its second major event, the Conference titled ‘The Journey Together to the EU’, which took place from 09:00 to 14:00 at the Rogner Hotel in Tirana, Albania.
The conference featured an outstanding lineup of keynote speakers, bringing together a diverse mix of representatives from the Albanian government, business community, and a Member of the European Parliament.
The Conference was opened by our keynote speaker, Mr. Lukas Mandl, Member of the European Parliament from Austria, who delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of the EU Enlargement.
We had an impressive attendance of over 100 participants such as from various Embassies in Albania, Public Administration, NGOs, CSOs, and participants involved in the EU Integration process.
The Conference was dedicated to the EU Integration of the Western Balkans countries, with special focus on Albania. The primary topic was about strengthening cooperation between the European Union and aspiring Member States during the European Integration process. Empasizing the phrase ‘Together’, we see ample opportunities to streamline and improve the way in which European Integration is organized. We explored opportunities to streamline and improve the EU enlargement process to ensure its success.
A special session also addressed the business sector and the challenges of transitioning to the EU Single Market. The EU’s reform requirements pose significant challenges for businesses, particularly in meeting the content demands of EU rules and preparing for future entry into the Single Market.
During the conference we presented our video with the slogan ‘The Journey Together to the EU’, which is a summary of our mission. ‘The Journey Together to the EU’ symbolizes strengthening EU enlargement. It’s about bringing people together to share experiences and insights, essential for making EU accession a reality. At the end of the conference all participants received a Ceritficate of Attendance.
